Robust-Aire® from Kasco and systems from AquaMaster and Vertex® are complete and professional pond aeration packages that include compressors, diffusers and cabinets. Efficient aeration will not only help stop fish kills but by raising oxygen levels it will help reduce the nutrient levels associated with algae growth and foul odours. For large and small ponds these aeration packages are affordable turn-key, plug-and-play packages.

Facultative ponds, leachate ponds, waste stabilization ponds, aerated lagoons and batch reactors all require specialized attention. Retention rates, chemical make-up and temperature variations mean that each case we deal with is unique. Domestic waste and industrial wastes may undergo similar treatments but there are subtle calculations which can make all the difference in the cost effectiveness of the project.

Adding aeration to earth ponds and private lakes is the best method to control water quality and algae. It is very important not to overlook aeration in small basins and in ponds which have a large organic load and that are typically mucky at the bottom. We strongly promote air diffusion at the bottom of the pond as the best form of aeration. Fountains and cascades are aesthetically pleasing and offer some surface aeration but we recommend bottom air diffusion as the most efficient way to improve and maintain good water quality.

Aeration of the pond is basically the injection of micro-air bubbles into the water to supply oxygen to your pond, lake, well, golf-course water body, etc. The water of the pond is turned and circulated from bottom to top by air diffuser plates that oxygenate the entire pond. A pond that has a regular shape and a single deep area would require an appropriately sized compressor, a single diffusion station and the required length of self-sinking tubing. If you prefer to have your compressor further from the pond then simply run a line of regular tubing from the compressor and then connect the more expensive self-sinking tubing at the pond edge.
