Horizontal circulators offer an economical, energy efficient means of creating flow in a calm, stagnant waterway. The thrust and resulting current produced by these units creates a moving stream of water which can also control certain undesriable plants. The water movement also limits the success of mosquito reproduction: West Nile carrying mosquitos are discouraged from breeding in your waterway. Circulation brings bottom water to the surface where oxygen is transferred at the air/water interface. Mixing and the resulting currents move this oxygenated water back down to the bottom. With oxygenated water present, the decomposition of organic material on the pond bottom by aerobic bacteria as well as micro and macro organisms, is accelerated. The presence of oxygen on the bottom also ties up some of the available phosphorus that would otherwise feed the growth of plants, including algae. Creating a current will also keep unwanted material from drifting into the area you wish to protect. This unit is highly recommended for any relatively shallow body of water (2' 6" or greater). With the float option you have the ability to mount the motor in one of five positions which allows for extremely shallow water applications or for efficient water movement at depths up to 18 feet.

De-Icers To
de-ice a shallow water area, direct the flow of warmer water from a deeper area
into a shallower area. The de-icer performs by drawing the warmer, denser water
from the pond bottom and circulates it upwards towards the surface which prevents
ice formation or melts existing ice. The de-icers may be operated with the optional
universal dock or piling mount. The de-icer may be operated in either a vertical
or several angle positions. The de-icer can be adjusted to a maximum length of
10 feet from the mounting bracket. You may also use the optional flotation kit
to create an elongated de-icing pattern in either fresh or salt water. Ideal for
shallow water areas or where water levels fluctuate such as tidal waters.
